Are you tired but inspired?  That’s the perfect place to say yes from.  I’m bringing the fun and ease to the creative process so you can start to explore your inner artist right away.

Imagine dancing with your paintbrush as you watch the colors drip down your canvas?  Listen.  Can you hear your hands drumming on your painting as you connect your heart to the layer of wisdom you just created?

Are you someone who works hard, has a pretty darn successful life, great family even, but feels… well… friggin BURNT OUT!  Even if you are one of the lucky ones who hasn’t yet dropped to the floor in an exhausted heap of tears… we can all use more fun and ease!  Am I Right?

“Each of my paintings bring me insights into my interior and exterior world.” Deanna Miller

This class was born from a cycle of curiosity, beauty, vitality, adventure, freedom, love, truth and solitude gifted to me from the above painting

I call it The Regenerative Creativity Cycle and it’s a path to help you create anything your heart desires from a place of joy and ease!

Curious to learn more?  It is my life's purpose!  Too heavy!  Did I mention its FUN!!!!!

HOSTED by

Deanna Miller Studios

When:  It’s time for a weekend art retreat! March 29th-30th could be that weekend to exploration the creative YOU.

Why: I have felt your call!  I know your heart's desire for a beautiful, inviting, safe space to come together and explore yourself.  To get curious about the parts of you that haven’t been unearthed yet.  To be witnessed by others from a place of love and respect.  To let your shoulders drop, your belly stick out and the corners of your mouth rise as you breathe a sigh of release followed by a hearty laugh.

How: You will join me in studio from 10am to 4pm, Saturday and Sunday where we will paint using guided intentions, move our bodies, and have the option to share our experience with the group.  Over these two, regenerative days we will create using the principles of the Regenerative Creativity Cycle.  By the end, you will not only have your painting as an artifact of this experience, you will also have a better understanding of the purpose and power of creativity in your life and how to work with it in a healing, vibrant and fun way.  I mean, what more could you ask for?  Oh, and snacks!

The daily grind can really get you down; so many responsibilities and expectations.  Beautiful one, you are so much more than how productive you can be in a day!  The really cool thing is once you give your creative self a little lovin’ all sorts of things can shift in your life.  Yup!  That’s because neglecting your creative parts can spill over into other parts of your life.  What if that ache that just won’t go away could be moved with art!  I know, that’s pretty woo right!  I’m a believer because I have seen it in my own body!  Plus there are scientific studies and stuff too.

Ready to join me?  Not sure if you are ready yet?  I find that the number one thing stopping most people from making art is the idea that they weren't born creative and they are no good at art.  Well that’s like saying the reason you can’t play drums in a band is because you’re bad at drums when you have never taken a lesson!  We get “good” at something through learning and practicing.  The great thing about creating from a place of intentionality is even a complete beginner can do it and get benefits right away because it isn’t about painting a pretty picture.  This way of painting allows you to learn about paint, brush strokes and all the technical parts while you explore YOU through guided inquiries, meditation and somatic movement. And FUN!

Imagine being supported by others just like you?  Expressing yourself with ease and joy through creativity.  What possibilities may open for you by creating together, in a dedicated time, for an entire month.  Picture the joy we would experience together?

I created this class from the FUN and FREEDOM I experience in my art studio every day and from painting with my community of artists at Musea University in Sonoma, California. As a certified Intentional Creativity Teacher, my heart now wants to share that magic with you.

The Regenerative Creativity Cycle

One frustrating day (yes, these happen sometimes) while I was feeling stuck working on an epic painting for my Musea University class, Legend 2023: Archeo-Futura, I decided to write my core values for 2023 onto my painting.  That letting go and surrendering to the unknown opened me to a deeper understanding of what it means to co-create with the universe.

The essential wisdom that came to me through my painting over the next month became the basis of the Regenerative Creativity Cycle.  Those core values became the core elements of a creative process that aims to help you understand what is happening at each phase of creation and why it is so important for your growth as a holistic creator.  My belief is that we all create and need to create as part of the human experience.  The Regenerative Creativity Cycle allows you to do this with ease and joy!

Freedom Flow is $250 ($220 if you register before March 14th!) and includes ALL supplies, your own painting station complete with a sturdy, adjustable easel, apron and all your paint materials.  Beverages and light snacks are also provided.  Please bring your own lunch, or feel free to pop out and grab lunch from one of our fabulous local food establishments.

Imagine experiencing the beauty and power of using this cycle to explore your creative potential and find more joy and ease in creating the gifts you wish to bring to the world.

In community, we are able to feed off the colors and shapes that appear on the canvases that surround us. We can celebrate our “ah ha” moments and cheer on our challenges together.  Best of all, we can simply witness each other and feel “seen”.  How often have you felt truly seen for who you are?

“At the end of your brush is the tip of your soul.”

~ Andrew Hamilton

The practice of Intentional Creativity can teach you how to access messages from your soul, messages of healing, truth and purpose.  This is powerful, meaningful stuff but trust me… it is so much fun!   Often when I receive these messages I will burst into laughter!  This is because seeing a message you painted, while just being in the moment as you paint around a question, is one of the most exciting, emotional things you can experience!

Intentional Creativity’s power comes from creating in the present, body and soul, and learning to tame the critic's voice.  You know, the one in your head that has been telling you art is not important enough to give your precious time to. I will guide you as you practice being present and setting your critic voice to the side, allowing your Muse to frolic and play!  It takes a bit of practice, but the cool thing is practice is just showing up and having fun!

This IS your time!  I can’t wait to meet you XOXO

Hi!  It’s You

We were destined to meet.  I believe an invisible red thread connects us and has been bringing us closer and closer every day… and here we are!

I’m guessing that like me you are feeling the pull to explore your creativity and understand your unique gifts more deeply.  I invite you to honor your curiosity and trust that you are already on the path.  Where will you wander today?

My path has taken me on many adventures with titles like Artist, Partner, Mother, and Teacher.  These words hold so much, as I know your words do too, but they don’t come close to describing our whole self.  I know you feel it, that curiosity to know yourself more deeply, to let go and trust your intuition and find more joy and ease from life.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have never taken an art class before. Is this the class for me?

Yes! We will be learning about paint, brush strokes, technique, color theory and all the other “arty” stuff you need to know. I will demonstrate each technique before you paint. Since this is not a copy the picture class there is no need to worry about doing it wrong.

How is Intentional Creativity different from a regular art class?

Such a good question! Intentional Creativity involves creating with intention through mindfulness and embodiment. This means that we often hold a question or inquire in our mind, heart and body as we paint. We are listening and observing, usually focusing on one or two simple techniques per layer. This way of creating keeps us more naturally in the process of creating and the painting itself becomes an artifact of the experience. Not only does it make the painting process more enjoyable, meaningful and easy, it keeps our critic’s voice from constantly popping up telling us we are not doing it right. You receive step by step guidance, but your painting will be uniquely your own because your internal voice informed the choices you made while painting it.

What is your cancellation policy?

Deanna Miller Studios cancelation policy guarantees a full refund for courses cancelled 7 days before the event date. What do I need to bring to class?

Not much as we provide all the supplies you need to create. I suggest wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in and you don’t mind getting paint on. We will have note paper and clipboards for writing exercises but feel free to bring a journal if you like. Lunch is NOT provided so please make plans to nourish yourself by bringing a bagged lunch or popping out to a local food establishment.

Where are you located and what time should I arrive?
